Fantasy Football – Gameweek 2

Now that everyone’s picked a team to start the FPL season with, some fantasy managers are looking back at Gameweek 1 and feeling quite pleased with themselves while others seem to be tempted to pull out the first wildcard already! Whether you fall in the category of the former or the latter, you now have one less reason to worry. TKTG brings you the tips and picks from the best fantasy articles out there, so that you can make informed decisions regarding any transfers you’re considering (and not) :

This time around Fantasy Yirma have chosen Jelavic, Soldado and David Silva as their selected picks for Gameweek 2. Meanwhile, some other players that have been given special mention can be seen at their site – Fantasy Yirma

As usual, FPL Addicts highlight the top choices for Captain for the upcoming week of FPL. Last week, Ivanovic, one of their picks, went on to score joint second-highest for the GW with 15 points (30 if you gave him the armband). So, you should probably take this week’s top 3 seriously: Van Persie, Benteke and Soldado. There is very little doubt that RVP (vs. Chelsea) and Benteke (vs. Liverpool) will score goals in most of their fixtures this season so not only would it be a good idea to pick them up for the long-haul but also hand one of them the captain’s armband. Not to forget Soldado, who scored last week and again in Europe during midweek – he is poised to start in attack for Spurs (vs. Swansea) this week and beyond. But don’t take our word for it, do visit the Addicts blog to see why they have chosen three strikers as their top choices this week.

The folks over at FPLHints have addressed the debate regarding utilizing the wildcard at this early juncture. Their take on it is available at the blog here. Also take a look at their picks for GW 2, including Soldado, Dzeko, Nolan and others.

Fantasy Football Scout has released their picks for the week as well and the squad looks something like this: Boruc, Vertonghen, Huth, Coleman, Mirallas, Walcott, Coutinho, Walters, Dzeko, Van Persie, Soldado, Yanga-Mbiwa, Ben Arfa and Rickie Lambert. Their analysis behind each choice is available at their site.

My starting XI so far: Cech, Shawcross, Cole, Zabaleta, Wanyama, Coutinho, Hazard, Snodgrass, Coleback, RVP and Dzeko. Unfortunately, I’m stuck with Anelka as one of my subs but I’m holding on to this week’s transfer for GW3 (no game for Chelsea or Villa then). Bad idea? Probably.
