Many observers are surprised at how quiet Man City has been in the transfer market so far, while their league rivals go about their business with considerable vigour. Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham have been considerably more active than Roberto Mancini’s side with various player arrivals and departures. Is it just “the lull before the gunstorm” or are there some underlying issues which are preventing Sheikh Mansour and Co. from splashing their cash once again? Paul Wilson over at The Guardian outlines why he thinks Man City may be “in a transfer mire of their own making”.
