Former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola is again being linked with a move to Chelsea after intimating that he could make his return to football in London.
…
It is thought the Gunners are monitoring his situation in the event that Arsene Wenger opts to call time on his long career in North London.
…
But rumours persist that unless Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo continues to meet Roman Abramovich’s demands for success, Guardiola could be approached with a money no object offer.
In the summer, ESPN revealed that Abramovich had indicated to Guardiola that even a £20 million-a-year contract would be possibe if the Spaniard came to the Bridge.

This would be a crazy idea! Pep hadn’t proved outside his nest. If Roman pays him 20million a-year contract, that could prove to be yet another waste of money.
It could definitely be a waste of money. However, I don’t think Pep would take the role unless he was certain he’d have his own way and that he could succeed.
That being said, if the figures are correct, it goes to show how deep an obsession Roman has for playing what he considers to be “beautiful” football, and the lengths he’ll go to so that he can satisfy this need (just look at how much he’s spent).
Even European success doesn’t seem to have sated his appetite.
With Roman, I guess total control is never a possibility at Chelsea for any manager.
It’s so true that his appetite hadn’t satiated and that is good for Chelsea’s growth in a way.
