While there has been loads of talk of RVP to Man United – is there really a need for a striker over a midfielder?
– RVP and Rooney could both play in the 4-4-1-1 formation.
– The goal scoring burden on Rooney would be lifted.
– However no decent CM – besides a 37 year old Paul Scholes.
While a serious question is raised over Sir Alex Ferguson’s transfer policy.
Important Points:
– Since 2007 United have spent £198m on 26 players
– Net spend of £47m, (however this figure is inflated by the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid for £80m)
– Anderson has yet to really perform. The article states his transfer value at £17m however the Porto website claims Euro 30 million instead.
– Some good signings include Hernandez, Valencia, Nani and De Gea. (my personal opinion is that while both Hernandez and Welbeck are good they aren’t United level yet – hence looking at RVP)
– No replacement for Scholes, Giggs, Hargreaves, Nevile.
However dont bet against Fergie….ever!
